AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): Tipra Motha party MLAs have walked out of the Assembly over sitting arrangement issues. The walkout was held amid the Speaker’s poll preparations were going on. MLA Animesh Debbarma first raised the issue over sitting arrangements and when the pro-tem speaker did not allow him to speak all Tipra Motha MLAs had walked out.

This has left opposition candidate, Congress MLA with an inevitable defeat situation as Gopal Roy’s name was proposed by Tipra Motha. Tipra Motha also did not participate in nomination submission process of the opposition yesterday, though CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury was confident about Tipra Motha's support.
