AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Rising wild animal attacks have been concerning the people in Teliamura. The problem of wild elephants is not new in Teliamura sub-division. Several elephant-prone areas of Teliamura are frequented by herds of wild elephants almost daily and several deaths have been reported in Teliamura sub-division in the past few years due to attacks by elephants. Despite this, the forest department is not taking any permanent measures to solve the problem of elephants. Monday and Tuesday nights were not different. 1 seriously injured and several others slightly injured in wild elephant attack late on Tuesday night. The incident took place in Champlai area of East Lakshmipur ADC Village.
One person was seriously injured and several others were slightly injured in the attack of wild elephants in the Champlai area under Teliamura Sub-Divisional Forest Department i.e. East Lakshmipur ADC Village late on Tuesday night.
The name of the seriously injured person is Arun Debbarma.
Later, the people of the area witnessed this incident and immediately rescued the man who was seriously injured in the attack of the elephant and brought him to the emergency department of Teliamura sub-district hospital. According to the hospital sources, the condition of the person injured in the elephant attack is serious and if the condition deteriorates, he will be referred to GB Hospital in Agartala from Teliamura Divisional Hospital.
There is still intense fear among the local people in the whole area due to repeated incidents of elephant attack in the dark of night.
