AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): Serious negligence allegation raised against Govt hospitals as this is not first time that a patient has attempted suicide inside hospital premise. Such an incident was repeated in Boxanagar where after falling from the roof of the hospital, the patient is fighting with death. On Monday morning, the incident of suicide-attempt by a patient triggered tension in the Boxanagar hospital. Reportedly, a 25-year-old youth named Amitabh Sarkar, a resident of the area, was admitted to the hospital with physical illness.
In the meantime, on Monday morning, he jumped down from the roof of the Boxnagar hospital without the knowledge of everyone. Amitabh Sarkar was seriously injured in this incident.
Later the hospital authorities saw the matter and rescued him from the spot and gave him first aid at Boxnagar hospital. But due to his critical condition, he was referred to GB Hospital. Currently Amitabh Sarkar is fighting with death in GB Hospital.
Family members are clueless about the reason behind his suicide attempt. Tripura Govt hospitals seriously lack the intention to take care of the mental health of the patients. There are major allegations against hospital staff for rough behaviour with the patients.
