AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): Illegal local gun was seized with illegal woods in Baluchara, Teliamura.

Talking to a forest official, he said that he got information from secret sources that illegal timber will be smuggled through Baluchara area. In this report, the forest dept officials were ambushed in the early hours of Saturday in the Baluchhara area. Foresters sit in ambush for long periods of time. On Saturday around 5:30 am, two youths were seen bringing firewood on bicycles. The forest officer said that another youth had a country gun in his hand.

After spotting the Forest Officials, the smugglers dropped the wood on their bicycles and fled into the forest with guns to witness the forest workers. However, the gun was recovered.

Later the matter was reported to Teliamura Forest Range Officer. Meanwhile, the range officer came to know about the matter and reported it to Teliamura police station, said the patrolling forest officer.
