AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): National Health Mission survey said that in Tripura early marriage and early pregnancy rates are alarming.
Mission Director said, along with polio like diseases other surveys as Teenage Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy has started recently and the data shows alarming situations in the state.
A press meet was organized ahead of the inaugural Ceremony of Mukhya Mantri Sustho Shaishab -Sustho Kaishore Abhijan program which will be addressed by CM Dr. Manik Saha tomorrow under Mission 4.0.
The Mission Director said, as per survey the teenage marriage rate was 33.1% but in 2019 the rate was 40.1 which is the 3rd largest.
He informed that the pregnancy rate among teenage 21.9%. If it can not be decreased, infant mortality rate will be increased further. Mothers also suffer from various health risks due to early pregnancy.
This is a matter of huge concern, the Mission Director said.
