AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): Congress MLA Sudip Barman has challenged for witnessing an unstable BJP Govt in Tripura and signalled that he will try his best to break BJP Govt.
Addressing media after oath-taking, Sudip Barman said, “We know we could not meet up to the expectations of the people and like the voters, we are also upset but the fight will continue. This is the fight against the dictatorship and we will continue that. The battle between 32 (BJP, IPFT MLAs’ number) and 27 (Opposition Seats) will continue inside and outside the floor. People of Tripura will witness it in the coming days”.
“We accept that we have failed to unseat the Govt but this is also true that this is first time in Tripura Assembly Poll that with such a low margin of 38.9% vote-share a political party has come to power. Our target will be to keep the unity of the opposition votes. In coming days, we have to check that in no way, opposition votes should be divided”, said Barman.
The statement from Sudip Barman came after he had taken oath as MLA today. On being asked, why did not he take oath yesterday, Barman said, it’s not at all a topic because there are more few days within which a person can take oath.
Along with Sudip Barman, Tipra Motha MLAs also took oath. Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Manikya and Congress MLA Sudip Barman then shared joined photos before media. On the other hand, Pradyot Manikya said, Tipra Motha will function as a strong opposition party in Tripura now.
