AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary, Sabroom MLA Jitendra Chowdhury Thursday while addressing media after oath-taking as legislator said, if the Govt is taking decisions for public welfare then Opposition not only will support but will extend greetings. The statement came after CM Dr. Manik Saha had appealed for a constructive criticism. CM said, “We have taken oath to keep the unity alive. All political parties elected leaders have taken oath to that. I expective constructive attitude in the Assembly and in the Governance. We will work for the people of Tripura and that’s our job. So I appeal to the people of Tripura to help the Govt and live in harmony”.
“Do not spread hatred in the society and regardless any difference, all should live in harmony. Tribes and non-Tribes should be living peacefully so that the Govt can focus on the development”, said Dr. Manik Saha.
This is the first Assembly gathering after 2023 Assembly Poll in which BJP has become the ruling party with 32 seats and 33 seats taking a count of IPFT’s one seat. Yesterday one MLA Pratima Bhowmik however has resigned to continue as the MP and Central Minister.
As two of the MLAs of Left Front from North Tripura reached late, so the opposition MLAs have taken oath in Speaker’s room.
On being asked about why Left Front MLAs took oath in different place, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that two MLAs reached late and that’s why the oath taking was held in a different place.
6-Agartala Congress winner candidate Sudip Barman was absent from oath taking program in Tripura Assembly. The reason could not be known about his absence.
Total 44 MLAs have taken oath today.
