BJP party workers have blocked road in the VIP road zone with dead body of Tapan Kumar Das, a BJP worker who died in clash with opposition CPI-M. BJP demanded immediate arrests of all culprits behind the incident.

As the blockade prevented vehicles including vehicles which were going to Airport and Hospital, former Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman rushed to the spot and requested party workers to remove themselves as public were suffering.

After he assured about justice to Tapan Kumar Das’s family, BJP workers released the road.

The clash occurred on Election result day in Barjala after CPI-M candidate had won the constituency and BJP has won over the state. Many BJP workers were hospitalized and CM Manik Saha himself visited GB hospital, and met the injured party workers. Out of them one BJP worker named Tapan Kumar Bhowmik was serious and admitted to GB for a long time. After 10 days of struggle, the BJP worker breathed his last at GB hospital. Former BJP MLA of Barjala Dilip Das and AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder visited GB and consoled the family members.
