AGARTALA, March 11 (TIWN): CPI-M MP Elaram Karim while addressing media in Agartala said that due to opposition Left, Congress’s votes were shared by Tipra Motha it made BJP to win.
Karim was talking about the ongoing violence in state when he said so.
“BJP’s voting percentage has downed 10%, seats decreased and the party MLAs won with narrow margins and now trying to supress the voice of the opposition. BJP could not have won if Tipra Motha party had not taken the vote shares”, he said.
Tripura has witnessed tough competition with the opposition parties and in almost all seats political parties have won by narrow margins. Tripura BJP-IPFT’s seat numbers in 2018 poll was 44 which has been dropped to 33 in this poll. BJP’s vote share is 39% in Tripura in this poll.
ADC’s ruling, regional party - Tipra Motha Party turned the major opposition party at State Assembly with 14 seats after Left’s 11 seats and Congress’s 3 seats.
