AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): A young man was arrested with Cannabis from Teliamura Trisha Bari Railway Station.

According to the details, it is known a young man was detained with 5 Kg dried Cannabis from the Dharmanagar-Agartala train while the train stopped at Teliamura Trisha Bari Railway Station. The young man was detained by other passenger based on suspicion. The youth was identified as Raj Deb, though the youth denied the incident.  

However, speaking about this, an officer of the Teliamura Railway Police said that the passengers and local residents arrested this young man and handed it over to them.

The railway police were informed and they came and took away the youth with Cannabis

Question have raised on role of the Railway Police centering the recovery of Cannabis. It is alleged that the Railway police is not taking any positive role despite the allegations of Cannabis smuggling around Teliamura railway station.

Earlier, a large quantity of Cannabis was recovered from the railway under the leadership of the SDPO of Teliamura PS, but the railway police failed to show success in one field.
