AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Manikya who returned from Shillong on Tuesday said that Tipra Motha party will not align with the BJP if no constitutional solution is given for which Tipra Motha has been fighting. On being asked by media about whether any conversation was held with BJP or not, he told media that he talked to BJP over phone as he received calls from the top-levels but until BJP will give a constitutional solution to Tipra Motha, there will be no compromise. “I have not met BJP leaders and also I was not in Delhi. I have come from Shillong. Our condition will become just like IPFT if we align without any assurance. Just because of post and positions, Tiprasas’ demands can’t be compromised”, Pradyot Manikya told media.
The statement came from Pradyot Manikya amid speculations ongoing over Tipra Motha’s post-poll alliance with the BJP.
On the other hand, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, almost all demands can be kept of the Tipra Motha party but the state can not be divided in the name of Greater Tipraland.
BJP has got 33 seats along with its IPFT partnership and Tipra Motha got 14 seats emerging as the second opposition party in the Assembly, after Left and Congress.
BJP Govt will take oath tomorrow in the presence of PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J.P.Nadda.
