BELONIA, March 7 (TIWN): 9 shops, 2 houses have been burnt allegedly by miscreants in Belonia.
From furniture to children’s books, nothing could be saved in the houses.
According to the report, on Monday after midnight, Belonia’s 1-No Tila’s Prabhati Bazar area’s Tamal Kanti Banik’s house, 9 shops and a rented home were set on fire. In Tamal Kanti Banik’s house over 22 lakhs of losses could be assumed.
It has been alleged that in one of the rooms, from outside the doors were locked. But who are behind this heinous crime, it could not be known yet.
Devasted house owner Tamal Kanti Banik has appealed for compensation to the Govt.
BJP local leaders have visited the victim’s house and later SDM Ratan Bhowmik also had visited his home.
Administration has assured full support to the family.
