AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): Congress held a press conference at Kailasahar District Congress Bhavan where Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha in a threatening tone said that if the administration fails to stop political Violence within the next 48 hours, then the Left and Congress will form a united resistance to defend itself across the state. Sinha in the press meet said that this ruling Government has forgotten that they won with only 39 % votes and the opposition holds 61 % of the vote. Sinha, welcomed the new government and said that he doubted this government would not last long
He said that elections are held every after five years because of Democracy exists. Before the Counting, meeting was held at District, Sub-divisional levels with representatives of all the political parties to maintain peace if Left-Congress came into Power, but since the BJP party won the elections, it has started rampage across the state, stated Sinha during the press meet.
It is alleged that BJP party workers across the state have started collecting money from common people in the name of Party thousand of rupees.
It is alleged, Kalyanpur Congress party’s Block president Sadhan Banik’s house was set on fire. The rice mill was his only source of livelihood which was burnt down. An attack took place on a Manipuri community house in Pechardohar village in Bilaspur village Panchayat under Fatikarai Assembly Constituency, and their shops were looted. One of the attackers was seriously injured after the villagers jointly created resistance and is currently undergoing treatment in Agartala.
Both opposition parties have filed case but Police have arrested only one party and the other party is roaming freely,
Birjit Sinha briefed everything in detail in the Press meet and apart from Birjit Sinha, Pradesh Congress General Secretary Rudrendu Bhattacharya, and District Congress President Badruzzaman were present at the press conference on Monday.
