AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): CPI-M held a Press meet on Sunday. In the press meet CPI-M leader Ratan Das alleged that after 2023’ Assembly Poll result declaration, BJP sheltered miscreants created a terror-like situation in various areas in the entire West Tripura. The attack on various areas has created panic among common people, alleged CPIM leader Ratan Das.
"The Post- Poll Violence crossed 200 houses, and many oppositions left homes to save their lives", alleged Das.
Ratan Das stated that the role of Police, Administration and the ECI over Post-Poll Violence is not satisfactory. He also said that they are worried about the unstoppable hooliganism throughout the West District.
It has been alleged by CPI-M that the miscreants are collecting money from oppositions forcefully and vandalizing houses, furniture and bikes. He informed that Pratapgarh, Surjamaninagar, Badarghat, Rajnagar, Jaypur, Kalikapur and outskirts areas have become Violence-Prone areas.
A delegation team of the CPI-M party has met the District Magistrate of the West District Debapriyo Bardhan and complained about post result violence.
Addressing media, CPI-M leader Ratan Das said, “Since the result declaration the entire West District has been suffering due to massive violence generated by BJP goons. The violence level is extreme. We have informed media about 200 cases where the violence took place”.
“Many families are now homeless out of terror. Police are trying to control the situation but they are failing. Police, Election Commission are failing to give the expected results. The clubs, organizations, administration which became much active in peace mongering before the result declaration, they are now inactive”, said the CPI-M leader.
“Goons are vandalizing homes, setting fire, physical attacks and even women and children are not safe. Lakhs of rupees are being collected from people”, he said.
