AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): 57 Juvrajnagar Assembly Constituency is one of the few places where violence activity has been going on since the declaration of Assembly results on March-2 in the state.
As per the ground report, after setting the rubber garden of the winning candidate Shailendra Kumar Debnath on fire in the early hours of Friday night, the house of Ajay Nath was vandalized, the car inside the house was broken and the CCTV camera was vandalized to remove the evidence, although a portion of the incident could be secured where criminals' faces were exposed.
Several houses of opposition party members were vandalized in the Radhapur area.
The SDPO and Superintendent of Police rushed to the incident spot and tried to bring the situation under control. Police patrolling in Dharmanagar continued throughout the night on Friday and the police were ordered to Lathi-charge when needed.
Meanwhile, some miscreants broke a part of the Chakraborty marriage house located on Jail Road in Dharmanagar. Due to this, tension prevailed in the Jail Road area.
Not only opposition but in many areas, ruling BJP party workers’ houses were also attacked.
CM Manik Saha has been visiting various places and warned all political party workers and miscreants not to indulge in lawless activities.
