AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who arrived in Tripura on Saturday after BJP’s victory in the Assembly Poll while interacting with media said that his party BJP is always open to talking about tribal welfare with Tipra Motha party but without giving any space for Tripura’s division in the name of Greater Tipraland. “We always encourage talks about development and issues but in no way, Greater Tipraland can be accepted by dividing state”, stated Himanta Biswa Sarma. His statement came after Pradyot Manikya told a news channel that all talks about tribal development were completed before poll but due to “model code of conduct” it could not be disclosed in public.
BJP has secured 33 seats along with IPFT’s 1 seat out of total 60 seats, whereas Tipra Motha got 13 seats and Left/Congress alliance bagged 14 seats.
Himanta Biswa Sarma also has appealed for peace in the state regardless any party is either being attacked or attacking.
“Post poll violence is not a good thing. It should be stopped and I believe, Tripura Govt will be capable to do so”, added Sarma.
