AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): Many top BJP leaders including IPFT MLA cum Minister Prem Kumar Reang did not participate in the last farewell program organized for Minister N.C. Debbarma who passed away yesterday after suffering from a brain stroke. Opposition CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury told media that though it is not a rule that everyone should remain present on such occasions but it has been always maintained in state that maximum numbers of MLAs participated to pay respect to the former state leaders.
Jitendra Chowdhury also said, N.C.Debbarma is still the Minister of Tripura Forest and Revenue Dept and on such occasion such a reaction from the State leaders was unexpected and unethical.
Jitendra Chowdhury also informed media that CPI-M has instructed party members to stop all programs in honour of the State Mourning Days announced by the CM but BJP has shamelessly observed all scheduled programs.
The Ministers and MLAs who did not attend the program are Education and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Information Culture Department Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Jail and Fire Minister Ram Prasad Pal, Minister Bhagaban Das, Food Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, IPFT Party Minister Prem Kumar Reang, Social Education and Social Welfare Department Minister Santana Chakma , MLA Mimi Majumder, Minister of Tribal Welfare Department Rampad Jamatia.
