AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Tuesday reacted to BJP Govt’s DA announcement which has raised 12% DA for the Govt employees from New Year and 12% DR hike for the pensioners. Reacting to the 12% DA hike, Jitendra Chowdhury said, “This is nothing extra ordinary that the BJP Govt has done. It had to be done. The Govt is trying damage repairing after 5 years of deprivation to the employees and fake promises given to the employees. Only half of the DA was given. When 31% DA was pending, only 12% DA was given. Before 2018 Election, Arun Jaitley the then Finance Minister came to Tripura. He was ill at that time. BJP used double-injection to bring him to Tripura and set the lies for the election”.
Chowdhury asked what happened to BJP’s 7th Pay Commission promise.
The statement came Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday declares a 12% hike of DA for the Govt employees, saying it will benefit Govt employees and also the pensioners in Tripura. Addressing a press meet CM who was sharing a dais with Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman said that 12% DA for employees over the revised basic pay w.e.f. 1.12.2022 and 12% DR for employees with 12% over revised basic pension. Other employees’ salaries also have been hiked though contractual employees resented over the deprivation.
