AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): A class 10 student of Sri Krishna Mission school named Arkadeep Majumder was caught with Chit-Sheet during examination. The teacher immediately changed the paper and scolded him. He was allegedly verbally abused by multiple teachers in front of all students after he sought back his copy as only 20 minutes left for the examination. After the entire incident, the boy out of insults committed suicide.
Today, BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik visited the deceased’s home.
While addressing media, she slammed Srikrishna Mission school authority along with other private schools which are functioning with their brand name.
She said, “The teachers in such schools use the brand of the schools and then start the tuition business. After such an incident, who will respect that school ?”
However, the private tuition business in Tripura private schools is not a new problem as schools pay very low to the teachers which forces the teachers to go for private tuition for survival. Many times TIWN raised the issues but it took 5 years for a BJP leader to raise the issue for first time.
However, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath is tightlipped over the entire matter.
