AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Saha while addressing the Kumarghat rally on Thursday slammed Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman without taking his name, referring to the letter written to the Prime Minister against the Dental College setup. The statement came after Prime Minister Modi had inaugurated Tripura Dental College on 18th December for the upcoming 2023-24 session with 50 students capacity saying “Now Tripura students can become Doctors by studying here”. However, before the inauguration, Sudip Barman alleged the College has no basic infrastructure, and no professor and wrote a letter to the Prime Minister about it. Later, ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival Dental Council of India permitted Tripura Govt to start the first Dental College in the state.
On 18th December, finally PM Modi inaugurated it on 18th December.
“We work for the people. Not to show off. That’s why on 18th December people flooded Agartala city with crowds to see PM Modi. It shows how much love exists in people’s hearts for the PM”, said Saha.
“Some people do not like development because they do not want people to love our Govt and that’s why some of them sent a letter to PM against the Dental college conditions. Then I took the step and placed all legal papers before PM Modi and then on 18th December the college was inaugurated”, said CM.
