Forward Block calls for de-classify Netaji’s disappearance files

Agartala, January 16 (TIWN): All India Forward Block, Tripura state committee would observe the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose throughout various programme across Tripura on January 23.

As a part, the committee would organize a Jail Varo protest with 4-point charter of demands in front of Akashbani office on January 13, said Shaymal Roy in a press conference at Agartala Press Club here today. Observing that 69 years have gone by since country's independence and even today people remained unable to know the reasons for the Netaji’s "disappearance", he said.

"The whole country will celebrate the birthday of national hero Netaji but we do not know when and how he died”, said Roy. A report from the Taipei government says that no such plane crash happened on the 18th of August, 1945. There are many theories and many speculations to his death, which we will never know, he added.

The main demands of the committee are to make nearly 41 classified files on the mysterious disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and related matters public and to declare the Netaji’s birthday as ‘Deshprem Diwas’.


To mark the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a sit and draw competition would be conducted at the cultural hall of Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan on January 18.

Besides, leaders of Forward Block would host the National flag and party’s flag and would pay tribute to the Netaji statue on January 23. In the evening, a seminar on Nitaji’s biography, cultural function and award distribution ceremony will be organized at Surya Chowmohani, he said.
