AGARTALA, Dec 18 (TIWN): Hunger and poverty are taking away a lot of life in India. A poor woman suffering from malnutrition and low immunity died after giving birth to a child. Although reasons of death may vary for experts but her family alleged that due to poverty she could not be feed basic food for two times which left her very weak.
The incident took place in Kutna Para area under Mungiakami RD Block.
Saktibala Debbarma (32) survived three days after giving birth to a child.
Locals alleged for delivery and during the entire pregnancy period no ASHA worker even contacted or responded them.
However family of the deceased also alleged that she was sent to her parental home before few months but her parents are more poor and they could not arrange two times meal. Nutritious food was a dream for them.
No proper food and no treatment could be provided to her after delivery. On Saturday night she died three days after her delivery.
Central Govt had launched schemes for the pregnant women but in reality maximum beneficiaries are unaware about the schemes.
