AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): Not even 5000 permanent jobs could be given by BJP in last five years. Although the Govt talks a lot about giving priority to health and education sectors but in case of recruitment, the Govt is far behind amid thousands of STGT candidates are on road, over five thousand nurses, lab technicians, ANM, MPW passed out youths are seeking jobs. After the brutal attack on the STGT candidates, Congress MLA Sudip Barman said that this Govt’s priority can not be Education and Health because it has no concern about recruiting employees even though many qualified candidates are not getting jobs.

Condemning Police brutality on STGT Job Aspirants in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s home, Congress leader Asish Saha said that such actions by police were never seen in Tripura before the BJP Govt but now it has become a trend that whenever people are raising voice this so called “Rashtrabadi Sarkar” is attacking them.

“Over 40 STGT Qualified Unemployed Youths were attacked by Police when they were protesting in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath's home. They are qualified and seeking their rights. I condemn the incident and assure the affected unemployed youths that we will stand with them”, said Asish Saha.

Unemployed job aspirants were beaten up by Police in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s house after they staged a protest demanding jobs for the STGT qualified candidates. In the police attack, even a pregnant woman was beaten up. She was also not assist with any medical help by police. The STGT-qualified candidates had gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s home seeking jobs for them who were qualified before three months. After hours of protests, Ratan Lal Nath called the agitators and a few of them met him but the Minister scolded them and also informed that “No Fund” is available to the Finance Dept to recruit them. Shocked unemployed youths came out of his house and asked, if no funds then why the interview was taken. The protest continued and Ratan Lal Nath came out of his home, further scolded the protesters in front of the media and left for his office. As soon as Ratan Lal Nath left the place, the Police started beating up them.

However, lathi charge was pre-planned as the Minister left and within a few seconds, peacefully protesting agitators were attacked by police.

Many youths were injured in the deadly attack. Girls, pregnant women nobody was spared from the brutality.

An injured woman who was crying told media, “We are protesting due to our crisis. We are suffering from unemployment. It was Education Minister who promised to solve our problems and now he is not keeping his words. Whenever we protest, we are arrested, beaten up. Why ?”
