AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): 10323 Teachers have completed 53 days of their hunger strike who on Saturday protested by covering their mouths with black clothes and tying black ribbon. The silent protest was conducted on International Human Rights Day when 10323 teachers’ human rights were allegedly violated by wrong explanation of the Court’s verdict which has caused hundreds of people’s death, devastated thousands of families, affected children as the earner of the each family was terminated. The protest was staged on 52nd Hunger Strike Day.

“We were affected due to wrong explanation of the Court’s verdict and now also due to some officials’ wrong interpretation of the same verdict, we are jobless, not getting salaries for 34 months. We are starving for 52 days but the Tripura Govt has no concern”, said Pradip Banik, an affected teacher.

“Today Human Rights day but nobody has stood with us. In protest we have decided to observe black day and condemn the role of Human Rights Commission”, Pradip Banik told media.
