AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): Two (2) construction workers died in the landslide, the incident happened in the 47th mile area of Atharmura Hill on Assam Agartala National Highway. On Thursday morning while the workers engaged in the construction of a paved drain on the side of the National Highway, suddenly the soil mixed with rocks of the hill collapsed on the workers, reportedly.
Two workers were crushed to death on the spot, they were identified as Swapan Majumder (42) of Udaipur and the other is Hurupu Bardoli (22) of Assam.
Teliamura Fire Brigade personnel and Mungiakami police station reached the spot after getting information about the incident. After a long effort both the dead bodies were recovered, Swapan Majumder's dead body was brought to Kulai Hospital mortuary and Hurupu Bardoli's dead body was brought to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital mortuary by Teliamura Fire Brigade personnel.
It is known that the body will be handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem.
However, the entire 47 mile area was immediately sensational based on this incident.
