Ltd. for the construction work of the flyover here in Tripura from Agartala Dropgate to Fire Brigade chowmuhni via Battala. “we asked the selected agencies for their own financial bid and they will submit the report on January 18 or 19”, said Mr. Bhaumik.

He said that if everything goes well and falls in right track than the construction work of the flyover is likely to start from this Financial Year (FY). Adding to that he said, as per the lowest financial bid agency will be selected and later after the approval of the Advisory Board and the state govt. the construction work will kick start.

Later asked about the benefit of the flyover here in the overcrowded capital city, Mr. Bhaumik said that the first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles.

The estimated costs assigned for the introduction of the flyover is Rs. 205.22 crore.

The entire structure will be constructed on single-row pillars. As many as 100 pillars will cover the 2.5 km fly over. Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path. It means the vehicles leaving Nagerjala will not be allowed to catch the fly over to avoid traffic congestion, said the officials.
