AGARTALA, Dec 5 (TIWN): A CPI-M worker was beaten up by BJP workers at a marriage function for attending CPI-M’s rally.

The CPI-M worker named Sagar Chakraborty went to a friend's wedding ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Around eight o'clock in the night, a group of miscreants gathered there and beat him severely, saying that Sagar participated in several rally meetings of the CPIM.

On the other hand, Sagar's friends and his relatives were locked in the house by the ruling party-sponsored miscreants. So none of them could come forward to save Sagar.

He was taken to Bishalgarh hospital after the incident.
