AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Sahid Mia, a CPIM leader was brutally killed by BJP goons in Charliam in a broad daylight in presence of Police during CPIM-BJP clash. In the clash many CPIM were injured including CPIM senior leader Bhanu Lal Saha. After Saheed Mia’s death, his family members were ready to take his dead body home but shockingly, Police forcefully seized CPIM leader Sahid Mia’s dead body from his family.
CPIM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said, it was an illegal activity done by Police. A complaint was lodged by Sahid Mia’s family to the DGP Tripura.
Sahid Mia’s family members were also physically assaulted by police. Centering Police’s attitude with Sahid Mia’s family the CPIM activists on Thursday gheraoed Police Headquarter against Police’s inhuman role. During the gherao, CPIM state leader Manik Dey said that no words were left to condemn the Police role, he also said that without Minister's order the Police cannot move to that house.
Dey alleged, “In front of Police he(Sahid Mia) was killed by being beaten up brutally and this Police today seized Saheed Mia’s dead body by beat up his relatives brutally. Over Police’s such inhuman role, Dey asked, “If Police take role of dead body seizure then what can be left more?” Also asked, “Is there any Law and order left in the state? “ Police seized the dead body by beaten up relatives, I don’t know if such a precedent is there anywhere or not',' added Dey.
However, in today’s protest rally along with Manik Dey, state Secretary Jitendra Choudhury, Bhanulal saha, Pabitra Kar and many other heavy weight leaders of CPIM was present in the program.
