AGARTALA, January 14 (TIWN): Private institutes coaching aspirants of Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) 2015 have started minting money. New centers have also joined the race as more students in Tripura opt for teaching jobs in the wake of the state government decided to make Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) compulsory as per the National Council for Education and Training NCERT guidelines.
Arnab Ghosh, a teacher at one of these coaching centers, said, "Every competitive examination needs different type of training. One cannot attend a coaching class for banking examination and clear TET, which is why coaching classes for TET have started in the city."
Even students feel that group discussions at coaching centers help them. Pranab Saha, a TET aspirant, said, "I cannot concentrate on my study at home. So I joined a coaching class. In case of any doubt, I can readily ask for help."
But the story has a flip side. With rising number of TET aspirants and equal number of coaching centers, students often get confused with what choice to make. And in the process they land up being duped by an unregistered institute.
It is to be mentioned here that after a long hiatus the state government on December 30 last year finally decided to make Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) compulsory as per the National Council for Education and Training NCERT guidelines.
Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted with a total of 150 marks, where a candidate have to score at least 60% and the recruitment under the TET will be done on merit basis.
Once a candidate appear for the TET and gets passed with 60% marks, his or her job panel will continue for at least 7 years and if any candidate want to appear for TET second year, than he or she can appear for it.
