AGARTALA, Oct 29 (TIWN): Tripura’s continuous rapes and gang-rape incidents have created tension statewide. There is tremendous pressure on victim families not to lodge any case against Minister Bhagaban Das’s son when Minister Sushanta Chowdhury himself is confused about Bhagaban Das’s son’s location on rape incident day. Amid such a situation when various political, non-political parties are protesting seeking justice for the victim, BJP organized a rally led by its women members claiming that Congress and CPI-M are intriguing against BJP to spoil the party’s image.
Political parties and also apolitical organizations in Tripura continue demand for fair investigation as Minister Bhagaban Das’s son was involved in Kumarghat gangrape case.
The doubt escalated after BJP’s various leaders claimed various locations of Bhagaban Das’s son on rape incident day.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on 26th October told media that Bhagaban Das’s son Chandrashekhar Das was out of state that is Guwahati and on 28th October he said, Chandrashekhar was in Agartala.
However, BJP women leaders said if Minister’s son is involved then he must be punished but political parties should not indulge in politics with rape incidents.
