AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): Arrogance of BJP Minister Bhagaban Das was displayed after his son Chandrashekhar Das’s involvement was alleged in 16 years old girl’s gangrape incident. Though it was demanded to remove Minister Bhagaban Das from the cabinet for the sake of fair investigation, BJP Govt has gone to its extreme level of ‘shamelessness’ and put the rape-accused son’s father Minister Bhagaban Das in a press conference at the Secretariat. No sign of sympathy was seen for the rape victim on Minister Bhagaban Das’s face, rather, he called him and his son Elephants of the society and the people who are in protest as Dogs. He said, let the dogs bark behind the elephant.

BJP Govt’s real face behind “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was exposed when BJP Ministers are day-night engaged to save Bhagaban Das’s son from rape charges. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on behalf of Bhagaban Das’s son Chandrashekhar claimed on 26th October that Bhagaban Das’s son was in Guwahati on 19th October whereas today Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, Chandrashekhar was in Agartala on that day.

Question arises, why should not police now interrogate Minister Sushanta Chowdhury for his double-statement on such a sensitive issue?

Rape cases in Tripura have not yet stopped.

After Kumarghat, Kamalpur, Kailashahar, today in Jogendranagar also another minor girl was raped. BJP still continues to claim that “Crime rates have decreased in Tripura”.
