AGARTALA, Oct 26 (TIWN): Sacked 10323 teachers who are in Hunger Strike for last 7 days have slammed the BJP Govt for its failure to keep its pre-election promises which assured to restore the jobs of 10323 teachers.
10323 teachers are in “Hunger Strike” for 7 days and many teachers have fallen sick during the strike. Today teachers’ leader Pradip Banik was also hospitalized after he lost his consciousness.
Expressing resentment against the role of the Govt and so called intellectual sections of people, a terminated teacher said, “Why is Govt cold to our demands ? Why the so called intellectual society is not bothering about our condition? Before election 2018, BJP promised to solve our problems if a Double Engine Govt can be formed”
“Himanta Biswa Sarma who is now Assam CM himself promised to solve our problems. He assured us that before 2019 Lok Sabha poll, our matter will be solved. He said if his promises are not kept, nobody should vote for BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha Election. Why Himanta Biswa Sarma forgot his promise after dialoguing ‘Ghuma-Ghuma-Ke Chalana?”, said the agitating teacher.
10323 teachers lost their jobs after High Court and Supreme Court detected irregularities in their recruitment. However, 10323 teachers said their jobs had never gone and only a few teachers were part of the verdict.
Various groups of 10323 teachers have been protesting in scattered forms with single demand which is to recruit them in previous posts. BJP also before 2018 Poll promised to restore the terminated teachers' jobs if voted to power.
