AGARTALA, Oct 26 (TIWN): A 25-year-old housewife named Suma Tanti died on spot after she was hit by a speeding train while crossing the railway line in Lembuchhara area under Ranibazar police station.

The accident occurred when the housewife crossed the railway line on her way home. When the locals noticed the matter, informed the Ranibazar PS, the police based on this information rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and brought it to the GB hospital for post-mortem.

As soon as the news of the housewife's death spread, her family came to the spot and broke into tears after seeing the housewife's body. Sensation spread in the area based on this incident.

Locals said that they have been demanding to set up an over bridge in that area for a long time but their demand has not been fulfilled till now.
