Political Revenge: Poor farmer’s teak trees cut by Miscreants for supporting opposition party CPI-M

AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Miscreants cut down 78 teak trees of a poor farmer in the dark of night. The incident took place late on Saturday night in Khamarbari area of Haralia village Panchayat in Charilam block. On Sunday morning, the farmer started crying when he noticed it.
The farmer is identified as Shital Sarkar. He planted 125 teak trees a year ago by spending Rs 20,000-25,000 and his initiative was not tolerated by miscreants and as a result the miscreants cut down the trees.
It is known Shital Sarkar is a leftist activist in the area.
