AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Police force under the leadership of Karimganj Additional Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das arrested drug smugglers Tahir Ali and his son.

Patharkandi PS police, Bazarichara PS police, Churaibari PS police and a large contingent of police and CRPF led by Additional Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das arrested Tahir Ali and his son. Later, a raid was conducted at Tahir Ali's house in Chabrigram, Ichabil as the police had confirmed information that Tahir's had stocked huge amounts of Cannabis but could not recover anything as his family members as they escaped leaving the spot after hearing Police’s arrival.

Meanwhile, about 215 kg Gaza with a market value of Rs 15 lakh was seized from the auto Register Number-AS10 F 0307, said Samarjit Basumatari, OC of Patharkandi police station.
