AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Reportedly a man identified as Tapas Das of Subhash Colony, Chelagung ADC Village under Korbook Block, struck four women and three men with sharp weapons (Da) at noon today. Two women were referred to Agartala and one more was referred to Udaipur Hospital and the rest are admitted in Chelagung Hospital. Due to this incident intense tension spread in the Chelagang market.

On receiving the information, the police administration rushed to the scene Amarpur SDPO and Natu Bazar police station OC reached at the incident spot. The accused Tapas Das fled after noticing Police but after some time the people of the area handed over the Tapas Das to the Police. This incident created tension in the whole community and Tapas Das was referred to Udaipur.

 Local raised Allegation against him that the accused often threatens the local women to rape them, and under his threatens the villagers has been spending days with fear.

On learning of this incident, Korbuk Block Chairman Asim Tripura and Korbuk Block Yuva Morcha Observer Rajesh Chakma went and spoke to the families of those who were injured.
