KHOWAI, Sep 30 (TIWN): Heavy teachers’ crisis continue across Tripura schools. Agitated parents on Friday locked Athaibari school in Khowai in protest against shortage of teachers and continuous transfer of teachers there. Reportedly, angry parents again locked the school in protest against the transfer of teachers. The complaints of the parents are that due to the lack of teachers in the school, classes are not being done properly, and if one more teacher is transferred, the students' studies will be heavily disturbed. The agitating parents locked the school while keeping the teachers inside the school.
On the other hand, it is known that even though Athaibari school is a high school, there are not enough numbers of teachers in the school. There are 52 students in the primary section, 160 students in the second section, and on the other hand, there are only 9 teachers. So it is not possible to conduct classes properly.
Therefore, parents are not in favour of any teacher’s transfer for the future of students.
The agitating parents also complained that the school was locked for 2 hours but no official reached the spot.
Later getting assurance about solution of the matter, the agitating was withdrawn.
