AGARTALA, Sept 29 (TIWN): Demanding Durga Puja Donation of Rs 5000, a garment shop named Ananda Nikentan in Udaipur ransacked by Rabindra Sangh Club members. It is alleged that the Rabindra Sangh Club members demanded Rs 5000 to the Ananda Nikentan’s shop owner but the owner refused to pay Rs 5000 and gave Rs 800 as they have to donate money to all clubs. Centering this the Rabindra Sangh Club members ransacked the garment shop, vandalised tools and chairs present in the shop. Centering this huge tension was created in Udaipur New Town Road area and on hearing this news another local club named Pragati jumped against Rabindra Sangh. Clashes broke out among the two clubs in front of the RK Pur PS.
Pragati Club members claimed that Anand Niketan Cloth Shop is falls under Udaipur Amarsagar area i.e. Pragati Club area. The Anand Niketan cloth shop belongs to the Pragati club, so people from all parts of the area came out in protest.
Meanwhile, both Anand Niketan shop and Rabindra Sangh club have filed complaints in the police station regarding this incident. This caused a great stir in Udaipur city on Wednesday night.
