Agartala, January 12 (TIWN): Amid full-proof security, barely 24 hours left for the inauguration of Tripura’s first Indo-Bangla border haat scheduled to be held at Srinagar in Sabroom sub-division on January 13. The entire South district administration is all set to mark the inaugural ceremony.
Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to inaugurate the Srinagar border haat tomorrow at 12 pm and she will be accompanied by the Director of Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry and PS to Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. They will be travelling to Srinagar border haat by helicopter from Agartala airport.
Former Industry Minister & Lok Sabha MP Jiten Chaudhury, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Industries and Commerce Minister- Tapan Chakraborty, Director of Industries and Commerce Department, DM South, ADM South, SDMs of Sabroom and Belonia and many other dignitaries will be present in the programme.
Besides, Bangladesh Commerce Minister- Tofil Ahmed, Senior Secretary of Commerce Department, Bangladesh- Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, Director General of Ministry for Foreign Affairs, South Asia- Tareq Md. Ariful Islam and Abdul Latif Bakshi, Information Officer, Ministry of Commerce would attend the inaugural ceremony.
Altogether 5 local representatives from Bangladesh including MP of Feni 1- Shirin Akhter, MP of Feni 2- Nizam Uddin Hazari, MP (Reserved Seat) of Feni- Jahan Ara Begum, chairman of Chagalniya Upazilla Parishad, Feni- Mazbaul Hyder Chowdhury and Radhanagar Union Parishad chairman, Chagalnaiya- Md. Rabioul Haque Chowdhury are likely to attend the ceremony.
As many as seven local officials including District Magistrate (DM), Feni- Md. Humayun Kabir Khandaker, PGMB (BAR), PSC, G, Sector Commander, BGB- Col. Syed Fazle Kader Ahmed, PPM, Superintendent of Police, Feni- Md. Rwzaul Haq, CO, 4 BGB, Feni- Lt. Col Ahmed Junaid Alam Khan, ADM of Feni- Mohammad Mahbubul Haque, UNO, Chagalnaiya, Feni- KAzi Sahidul Islam and Executive Magistrate, Feni- Md. Shariful Alam Tanvir would also be present during the inaugural ceremony of Srinagar border haat.
