AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): Taking advantage of an empty house, thieves looted gold ornaments including cash from a house in Koroimura, Charilam on Monday night under Bishramganj PS. The theft incident occurred in Shefali Nama’s house.
It is known for the past month Shefali’s husband is ill and for treatment she came to GB Hospital and her husband has been undergoing treatment for a month. After recovery she came to home on Monday and found her gold ornamrnt including Res 5000 was looted by thieves.
The thieves tore the pillows into pieces, Bandhan Bank's Pass books were torn and scattered throughout the house by a gang of thieves. An idol of Lakshmi in the room was broken and thrown into pieces, the chickens kept in the house were strangled and thrown away. The thieves ransacked the house in absence of houseowner.
Helpless Shefali Nama demanded severe punishment of the culprits.
Every day the problem of stray hair is increasing in various areas including Charilam Bazaar. Residents complained that there is constant theft in the dark of night due to lack of police patrolling.
