AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): Inedible, spoilt filled with insects and spiders rice are being cooked at Aktapara Junior Basic School in Kailashahar for feeding to School Children for the past one and half months and after eating that meal school students have been falling ill with unbearable stomach pain. And lately school students are going to their homes during Tiffin time instead of taking meals at School.

The parents protested in the school premises as the students have been getting sick every day after eating this school rice. Parents ask school in-charge Harakumar Malakar, why such unfit rice is being cooked and fed to children? In reply, the in-charge of the school said that the chairman of the school management committee and the member of the village panchayat of the area said to feed this rice.

Parents also alleged the meal is being cooked with dirty water.

Harakumar Malakar admitted the truth of the incident and said that even after he informed the chairman of the school management committee and the local village panchayat member about this several times, they never once came to the school to check the condition of the rice. So the in charge of the school has nothing to do.

However, if the department does not take any kind of initiative in this regard soon or if the rice stored is not changed then a big incident may happen in the school at any time.
