District hospital is in a terrible state over unhygienic bathrooms and poor basic infrastructure

AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): Unakoti District Hospital located in Bhagwan Nagar area of Kailashahar remained in pathetic shape over shortages of Doctors and unhygienic Bathrooms, poor basic infrastructure. The disturbed scenario alleged by Congress local leaders. The Congress activists over the pathetic shape protested on 28th August by blocking roads.

The Administration had lifted the road blockade assuring the problem would be solved within a week. After receiving this assurance, the Youth Congress workers withdrew the road blockade that day, but till today there has been no change in the poor medical services at Unakoti District Hospital. Although, no changes occurred even after a week passed. On Wednesday morning, a delegation led by Youth Congress workers Jai Sinha and Sanu Chowdhury visited the district hospital and found that only one doctor is in charge and treating the entire district hospital. Dr. Soumya Bhattacharya is the only doctor who alone sees patients in emergency and he himself sees patients in OPD as well. Apart from this, he is also seeing the patients admitted in each ward of the hospital.

The youth leaders were outraged over the pathetic shape of bathrooms and toilets in every ward of the hospital as they are completely unusable.

Noticing the paralysed system in Unakoti District Hospital, the youth congress leaders asked Dr. Soumya Bhattacharya various questions, he said that he does not know where the other doctors are. However, he is doing his duty.

Youth Congress leaders said that they are launching a major agitation in Kailasahar soon to improve the poor medical services at Unakoti District Hospital.
