AGARATLA, January 10 (TIWN): Sports and Youth Affairs minister Sahid Choudhury inaugurated the 17th men and 4th women-senior Tripura State Hockey Championship 13-14 organized by Tripura Hockey Association at A.D. Nagar police hockey ground, here today. The Championship will continue till January 11.

 Director General of Police, Tripura K. Nagraj was also present in the inaugural ceremony of 17th men and 4th women-senior Tripura State Hockey Championship.

A total of eleven teams have participated in the Tripura State Hockey Championship. Out of the eleven teams eight are of men and three are of women.

The inaugural match was played between Bishalgarh and Teliamura. Bishalgarh was dominant over their rival Teliamura throughout the proceedings and made it an one sided match almost.

 Teliamura displayed a spirited show but their inexperience and physical difference with the Bishalgarh players made all the difference in the match. They won the match by a margin of 3-0.
