AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): Independence Day was held at the Belonia Vidyapith Stadium. State Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Santana Chakma hoisted the flag at 9 am in the morning.

South District Magistrate Saju Wahid A, South District Chairperson Kakali Das Dutta, MLA Arunchandra Bhowmik, Ratan Bhowmik were also present.

On the occasion, various cultural programs were organized by various schools in the grounds.
