AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): Sacked, Ex-CM Biplab Deb who repeatedly attempts to grab the limelight attention and denounce the guideline set by incumbent CM Manik Saha has organized another attack on Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman in Khayerpur, after stone-pelting was organized on the Congress agitators at Jirania. Reacting to the attack on Congress, Tripura Congress Incharge Szarita Laitphlang told media, “BJP has displayed its coward face once again. BJP thinks, Sudip Barman is a glass and can be broken down but they should keep it in mind that Sudip Barman is a Himalaya’s peak, nobody can down him".
"What is surprising that when Congress was agitating, then Police arrested the Congress agitators saying, it will escort the Congress members but on the way at Khayerpur the attack was held”, she told media.
“Our movement was for Bharata-Joro that is against the dividing policy of the BJP. In front of police the attack took place”, she said.
Szarita further asked CM Manik Saha if is this the so-called “Azadika-Amrit-Mahotsav” the Govt has displayed on banners.
However, sources say Biplab deb’s team, including Minister Sushanta Chowdhury is behind the attack who is holding the Ministry but working for Biplab Deb’s benefit amid party high command has banished Biplab Deb from the entire cabinet. Jirania constituency belongs to Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Khayerpur Ratan Chakraborty and both are belong to Biplab Deb's group.
Sudip Roy Barman, and other Congress activists were hospitalized immediately after the incident, undergoing treatment.
