Jitendra Chowdhury was addressed in a remembrance program of Braja Gopal Roy and accused BJP and its Govt of all social disturbances happening in the society.

Chowdhury praised Braja Gopal Roy for dedicating his life to constructing a healthy society in Tripura and being in the administration worked to expand mass education. Braja Gopal Roy was the main leader of the All India Forward Bloc in Tripura.

Roy was member of the legislative assembly of Tripura 1978–1983 and 1993–1998, representing the Town Bordowali constituency.
