AGARTALA, August 2 (TIWN): Two drug dealers were arrested red-handed with brown sugar by locals. The incident took place at Jamirala on College Road under Dharmanagar PS

After receiving information from the locals, the police reached the spot and detained the two drug peddlers. The name of the arrested drug peddler was identified as Helal Uddin (27), resident of Bhagyapur Yakubnagar another was identified as Prannoy Das (25) a local resident.

The locals complained that they were dealing with drugs in the area for a long time. Police finally managed to arrest them on Tuesday due to the efforts of the locals.

In this incident, Dharmanagar PS SDPO Soumya Debbarma said that 29 kilos of brown sugar and cash were recovered from them. A case under the NDPS section has been registered against the accused and they will be produced before court on Wednesday.
