AGARTALA, January 10 (TIWN): After the curtailment of MGNREGA fund here in Tripura the Central govt. now curtailedthe fund for post metric scholarship stipend for the SC students of the state, with the fund allocated till today rested at Rs. 9 crore 70 lakhs, said SC welfare Minister Ratan Bhowmik on Friday evening.Talking to the reporters here at the secretariat, the SC Welfare Minister Ratan Bhowmik said that with its sudden drive, the central govt. has cut the fund allotted for the post metric scholarship stipend for the SC students in Tripura. Currently the total allocation along with the backlog rests at Rs. 18 crore 11 lakhs for Tripura, out of which the central govt. has provided Rs. 5 crore 43 lakhs during the first phase and later till today the centre provided Rs. 4 crore 27 lakhs making the total fund provided by the center to rest at Rs. 9 crore 70 lakh, said Bhowmik.

Adding to that Minister Ratan Bhowmik was showing displeasure over the decision of the central govt. said that the Tripura govt. to write the centre very soon in regard of the curtailment of the Post metric scholarship stipend.   

It is mentionable here that earlier the central govt. has diluted the MGNREGA scheme in Tripura worrying the state govt. at large. And bow another curtailment of fund has brought another bad days for the state govt. indeed. Though of course, the serial curtailment of fund here in Tripura has brought major hurdles for the poor people of the state.
