AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): The road leading to Dhupir Bandh and Lalchara through the Batarshir culvert of Dharmanagar Panisagar Road has been in terrible shape for a long time.
During rainy season the road turned into a Pond due to the Potholes on the road, resulting the local people could not move through this road. Several times the locals informed the village members, heads but no initiative was taken by them to repair the road.
Centering negligence role of local leaders in repairing, local people finally on Monday gathered on the double culvert bridge and blocked the main road from Dharmanagar Panisagar Road to Lalchara Dhupir Bandh
Locals protested by blocking the road and burning tires for a long time, demanding road reform.
Police from Dharmanagar PS and officials of Dharmanagar PWD rushed to the blockade spot.
After getting assurance of road repairing from the Concerned Department’s officials, the agitators removed the road blockade. However, it has now remained to be seen whether the road will be repaired on time or not.
