AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Safety of women in the HIRA Era is under question mark. A Woman named Sulekha Khatun who had attended Congress meeting 2 days back was beaten up by BJP workers in Charipara Sachindralal area under Amtali PS.

Not only Sulekha Khatun, but her mother was also beaten up by BJP miscreants.

The incident took place in BJP MLA Mimi Majumder’s Assembly Constituency.

The woman was first brought to IGM Hospital with serious injuries. Later she was sent to GB Hospital for better treatment.

Congress leader Szarita Laitphlang strongly condemned the incident and said that the woman was beaten up in front of two women Police constables.

Centering the incident Szarita questioned the CM about whether women are safe or not in this state?
